High school science tutoring for the hard ones.

Chemistry, biology, and physics each ask for a different way of thinking. Our tutors specialize, so you are working with someone who teaches your subject every day.

Pick your course

We tutor the three core high school sciences at every level, plus AP Environmental Science. Each tutor is matched by subject and level, not just by availability.

Sessions follow your class: this week's homework, next week's test, and, for AP students, the exam in May.

CHEM 400 · AP

AP Chemistry

AP Chemistry is the class students most often tell us they are drowning in. A tutor who knows all nine units, and how the free response section is actually graded, changes that quickly.

CHEM 200 · Honors

Honors Chemistry

Honors Chemistry is often the first class where a strong student suddenly sees a C. Usually it comes down to the mole and dimensional analysis. Fix those, and the rest of the year gets much easier.

BIO 400 · AP

AP Biology

Students who try to memorize AP Biology run out of room by Unit 4. The exam asks you to read data, design experiments, and predict outcomes. That is a skill, and it can be taught.

BIO 200 · Honors

Honors Biology

For many students, Honors Biology is their first high school science class and their first honors course. The content is manageable. The amount of it, and the way tests ask about it, is what catches people off guard.

PHYS 401 · AP

AP Physics 1

AP Physics 1 has one of the lowest score distributions of any AP exam. The math is only algebra. What makes it hard is reasoning about physical situations in words, graphs, and diagrams, and that is exactly what we practice.

PHYS 402 · AP

AP Physics 2

AP Physics 2 covers more different kinds of physics than almost any other course. Each unit feels like starting over. A tutor helps you see what carries over, so you are never truly starting from zero.

PHYS 451 · AP

AP Physics C: Mechanics

Physics C is taught like a first semester college engineering course. The physics ideas are familiar. The challenge is using derivatives, integrals, and differential equations to describe them.

PHYS 452 · AP

AP Physics C: E&M

Electricity and Magnetism is the most abstract AP science exam. You cannot see a field, and the math uses surface and line integrals students have barely met. Good tutoring makes it concrete.

PHYS 200 · Honors

Honors Physics

Physics is the class where students say "I understand it in class, then I can't do the homework." That gap is almost always about setting problems up. We teach the setup.

ENVS 400 · AP

AP Environmental Science

AP Environmental Science covers a huge range of topics and expects students to calculate without a lot of support. Most points are lost on the math question and on vague explanations.

Science tutoring FAQ

Can one tutor help with two sciences?
Sometimes, but we usually recommend a specialist for each. It is your choice.
Do you tutor middle school science?
Our focus is high school and AP. Ask when you book and we will tell you honestly if we are a good fit.
The first step

Start with one science lesson.

Tell us the class and what is worrying you about it. We pair your child with a tutor who knows that exact course and set up a free 30 minute trial session at a time that works for your family.

  • A tutor who knows your exact course
  • Sessions follow your teacher's syllabus and test dates
  • Online, so any time zone in the US works
  • Weekly worksheets, written score reports, and retests, all included
  • A support team tracking progress and keeping parents updated
