AP tutoring in math and science, built around the exam.

Every AP course has a published framework and every AP exam has published scoring guidelines. Our tutors teach to both, while keeping pace with your class.

Pick your course

AP courses are graded twice: once by your teacher all year, and once by the College Board in May. Good tutoring helps with both. During the year we follow your class. From spring, we shift toward timed practice using released free response questions and real scoring guidelines.

Most AP math and science exams are now hybrid digital: multiple choice in the Bluebook app, free response written by hand. We prepare students for that format.

CHEM 400 · AP

AP Chemistry

AP Chemistry is the class students most often tell us they are drowning in. A tutor who knows all nine units, and how the free response section is actually graded, changes that quickly.

BIO 400 · AP

AP Biology

Students who try to memorize AP Biology run out of room by Unit 4. The exam asks you to read data, design experiments, and predict outcomes. That is a skill, and it can be taught.

PHYS 401 · AP

AP Physics 1

AP Physics 1 has one of the lowest score distributions of any AP exam. The math is only algebra. What makes it hard is reasoning about physical situations in words, graphs, and diagrams, and that is exactly what we practice.

PHYS 402 · AP

AP Physics 2

AP Physics 2 covers more different kinds of physics than almost any other course. Each unit feels like starting over. A tutor helps you see what carries over, so you are never truly starting from zero.

PHYS 451 · AP

AP Physics C: Mechanics

Physics C is taught like a first semester college engineering course. The physics ideas are familiar. The challenge is using derivatives, integrals, and differential equations to describe them.

PHYS 452 · AP

AP Physics C: E&M

Electricity and Magnetism is the most abstract AP science exam. You cannot see a field, and the math uses surface and line integrals students have barely met. Good tutoring makes it concrete.

ENVS 400 · AP

AP Environmental Science

AP Environmental Science covers a huge range of topics and expects students to calculate without a lot of support. Most points are lost on the math question and on vague explanations.

MATH 300 · AP

AP Precalculus

AP Precalculus is newer than most AP courses, and its exam focuses on modeling and reading functions in many forms. Strong precalculus is the single best predictor of doing well in calculus.

MATH 410 · AP

AP Calculus AB

Most calculus mistakes are not calculus mistakes. They are algebra and trig slips made while doing calculus. We fix both at once, so the new ideas have something solid to stand on.

MATH 420 · AP

AP Calculus BC

BC covers a full year of college calculus. Students who do well in it usually are not smarter than everyone else. They just never let a topic slide, especially series.

STAT 400 · AP

AP Statistics

The calculations in AP Statistics are done on a calculator. The points are earned in the sentences around them: conditions, interpretations, and conclusions in context.

Questions

AP tutoring FAQ

When are AP exams?
AP exams are held over two weeks in early to mid May. The College Board publishes the exact schedule each year.
How early should AP tutoring start?
Ideally in the first two months of the course. Students who start in spring can still improve, with more sessions per week.
The first step

Start with one ap lesson.

Tell us the class and what is worrying you about it. We pair your child with a tutor who knows that exact course and set up a free 30 minute trial session at a time that works for your family.

  • A tutor who knows your exact course
  • Sessions follow your teacher's syllabus and test dates
  • Online, so any time zone in the US works
  • Weekly worksheets, written score reports, and retests, all included
  • A support team tracking progress and keeping parents updated
